An IPX7-rated speaker, the XBoom is rugged enough for use in any weather. In fact, the Tribit XBoom can reportedly handle up to 30 minutes submerged in three feet of water. However, I didn’t put this to the test. Its whopping 2600mAh rechargeable battery allows for up to 20 hours of continuous playback. Boasting two 45mm drivers and dual passive radiators, this 24W speaker gets loud while offering crisp audio and rich bass.

Tribit XBoom Review: The Best Bluetooth Speaker for Most Users
I’ve tested my fair share of speakers, both wireless and wired. My PC set up includes a Logitech Z623 THX-certified 2.1 speaker system, and my turntable is hooked to a pair of floor-standing Infinity cabinets. I’m rocking Infinity Alpha-series monitors for my 5.1 surround sound. In terms of Bluetooth speakers, I’ve got an Anker Soundcore, Sound Box Splash flashlight-speaker combo, and Tribit XSound Go. Suffice it to say I’m an audiophile and true speaker junkie.
The Tribit XBoom comes in an unassuming cylindrical form factor like the JBL Flip 4 or UE Boom. While you’ll find plenty of more feature-laden speakers on the market, you’re hard-pressed to uncover any which balance sound quality and affordability. There’s simultaneously a rugged vibe with its all-black exterior and classy aesthetic with a mesh grille. The exposed drivers on top and bottom provide a neat experience. It’s infinitely enjoyable cranking the volume and watching them vibrate.
Large, white playback and volume buttons branded on the front of the XBoom are simple enough to use. While you can toggle off the XBass technology, I appreciated the rich bass response it added. Whereas Beats By Dre often muddies bass, I found XBass to enhance it properly.
The Tribit XBoom ushers in an exquisitely balanced audio profile. The Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” oozed out with crisp vocals, punchy mids, and lush hights. John Lee Hooker’s warbling baritone felt as though Hooker were in the same room as me. Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” rang throughout the room with ample, but not muddy, bass. Lamar’s vocals remained clean.
A decidedly no-frills speaker, the Tribit XBoom absolutely trounces the competition. It’s easily the best portable Bluetooth under $100, and actually dominates even many speakers over the $100 barrier. Most speakers in this range clock in around $100-$150. Admittedly, the XBoom skimps on features. You won’t find an equalizer app, colorful lighting, or Alexa onboard. What you will find it the best bang for your buck, and a speaker that far outshines many premium Bluetooth speaker options.
Tribit XBoom Review: Curtain Call
The Tribit XBoom is hands-down the best Bluetooth speaker you can buy. Its unparalleled sound provides plenty of bass without becoming overpowering, and the XBoom holds its own when compared to popular, premium speaker offerings like the JBL Flip 4 and UE Boom 3. It’s my go-to portable Bluetooth speaker and my recommended speaker for most users.
