CBS hit series “NCIS New Orleans” kicked off on September 23, 2014, and its fifth season premieres on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Season 4 saw major development of its core characters, the team as a whole, and a continuation of several plotlines. Check out what’s in store for season five in this “NCIS New Orleans” season 5 preview and season 4 recap!
NCIS New Orleans Season 4 Recap
Throughout “NCIS New Orleans” season 4, Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) attempted as best he could to keep investigations on book. However, during the epic two-part finale “Checkmate Pt. 1” and “Checkmate Pt. 2,” Pride et. al went rogue once again. Uncovering a nasty conspiracy to kill Mayor Zahra Taylor (Amanda Warren), spearheaded by Associate Attorney General Eric Barlow (Doug Savant). The series finale culminated in Pride being show by Amelia Parsons (Ellen Hollman).
In an “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 preview, Pride fights for his life. NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) guest stars in season five opener “See You Soon.” It’s doubtful that “NCIS: NOLA” kills off its lead star, but “See You Soon” should prove riveting nonetheless.
Over the course of season 4, Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) left to pursue an FBI career. Meanwhile, Agent Chris LaSalle (Lucas Black) struggled to deal with his estranged late father’s estate.
NCIS New Orleans Season 5 Preview
Expect “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 to feature Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich) in a more prominent field work role. Season 4 saw Lund increasingly in the field after applying for a position with the New Orleans NCIS office. Nevertheless, Sebastian continued lab work opposite coroner Loretta Wade (the always-on CCH Pounder).
With Percy gone, Black, Kerkovich, Pounder, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (Patton Plame aka Triple P) and Vanessa Ferlito (Special Agent Tammy Gregorio) to see more time on-screen. Hopefully, this also means continued guest starring spots for recurring characters including Mayor Hamilton (Steven Webber) and Executive Assistant Director of the FBI Raymond Isler (Derek Webster). Notably, the Pride-Isler dynamic shifted dramatically during season 4 which saw Isler increasingly going rogue, with Pride reinforcing the rules. In Sonja’s absence, team Pride will add a new member to the unit.
Overall, “NCIS: New Orleans” season 4 was highly enjoyable, and season 5 should be similarly fun yet drama-filled. Season 5, episode 3, “Diplomatic immunity” is co-written by Kerkovich, an episode I’m quite looking forward to.
